bipp/towergate camerasure fine art awards 2013

last week i had the pleasure of attending the bipp/towergate camerasure fine art awards 2013. currently i am a qualifying member with the bipp (british institute of professional photography), during which i am eligible to enter the annual awards. the options being to submit a single image or a portfolio of five images as a series.

the portfolio i submitted for the fine art category was a selection from the shan shui series created last year.

being new to the bipp, my goals in joining were to meet and be inspired by fellow professionals, to obtain an honest critique of my work, and most important of all, to see where my work stands alongside my peers. i was already aware of being shortlisted for the awards which was an honour in itself. and to my complete surprise i was awarded joint winner of best portfolio for a provisional member. sara porter  whom i shared the award with created a beautiful series and the standard of all winners was outstanding. to be amongst such a high standard of work is an immense privilege and i would like to thank the bipp for their support.

in addition i would like to thank pagoda arts who supported the conception of this series for exhibition last year, and to dot-art who represent the limited edition prints in liverpool.
